About Us

Episcopal Campus Ministry in Columbia is a mission of the Episcopal Diocese of Missouri designed specifically for college students in Columbia, Missouri. Its members come from each of the three institutions of higher learning in Columbia: the University of Missouri, Stephens College, and Columbia College. Of course, if you are looking for a spiritual home, all are welcome.

We engage in two kinds of weekly fellowship: Logos and Eucharist. Logos is our informal weekly Bible study where we try to use scripture to work though the challenges and successes of life. Eucharist is our Sunday night church service, with FREE DINNER and conversation afterward.

The Rev. Christina Cobb, Chaplain

Hi! I’m Chris, the ECM chaplain. I consider the position to be a sort of homecoming, since I completed both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Mizzou. Over the years, I’ve done a strange variety of things, including serving as the City of Columbia’s official garbologist. There I implemented and evaluated the blue bag recycling pilot project. I also worked for MU as a research associate and as a community development educator through University Outreach and Extension.

I live on a farm in Montgomery County with my talented hubby, Michael, who works for Mizzou in construction management. We have three children. Anna, age 8, loves reading and horses. Five-year-old Joshua is mister-mechanical and loves anything with wheels. Leah, age 3, wants to be a princess and loves twirly dresses.

As a former Baptist, coming to the Episcopal Church was like “coming home to a place I’d never been before.” I am passionate about my faith and Christian service, but have a quirky, sometimes irreverent sense of humor. I enjoy gardening, music, and sewing, and my beet pickles took Grand Prize at the Montgomery County Fair. Which I’m sure you’re thrilled to know.
